I recently got a bunch of photos from my grandparents - some of them were taken on their many vacations over the years and they instantly reminded me of Slim Aarons. I love them. There's something so warm about a vintage photo - especially one taken on the beach! Slim Aarons' photography was just so glamorous, wasn't it? What a job - traveling to exotic locations, capturing the jet-set crowd playing poolside at luxury hotels! Cannes, Capri, Acapulco - yes, please!
Another book of Slim Aarons' photography will be released this fall - it's destined for my coffee table.

Writing is becoming somewhat of a lost art. Proof: schools are no longer teaching cursive! To me, there's hardly anything better than receiving a hand-written note, especially one penned in style!
I picked up (a significantly less expensive yet identical twin of) the Tiffany pen at a boutique in Mystic, CT. It's my "fancy pen". I love the quirky and long lasting Seven Year Pen series and the affordable, beachy Iomoi line. But really, I've got my eye on anything from Campo Marzio - modern and classic, my favorite combination. I love the Elite's fresh pop of orange and the convenience of the Necklace Slim - who would have thought that a pen would become such a fun accessory? But number one on my wish list is the silver engraved Fidia. Stunning. Seriously. I passed up bringing one of these home with me from Venice, Italy and regret it every time I grab a pen, even my "fancy" one. I guess I'll just have to go back and get one ...
